Clyde McPhatter - Lover Please (Lp Mono 1962)

Ótimo álbum de Blues, Soul, Funk, R&B e Pop, um disco muito bom do Clyde McPhatter, nele está alguns sucessos como "Rock Robin" "Such a Night" (Versão bem swingada) e "Lover Please".

The Tams - Presenting - 1964 - ABC 481 (MONO)

Raridade dos anos 60, esse Álbum dos "The Tams" vai de levadas romanticas ao soul e funk, sendo um grupo vocal americano formado em Atlanta, na Georgia, que esteve nas paradas de sucessos americanas entre os anos 60 e 70.

Este é um LP interessante para os fãs de reggae. Há duas canções sobre este álbum que se tornou rock steady / reggae padrões "Mood Dancing" e "Riding For A Fall" (Delroy Wilson teve um bate enormes usando essas músicas). Há também uma outra canção sobre este LP, que foi coberto por Derrick Harriott, "eu me preocupo". A versão rock constante de "eu me preocupo" por Harriott acontece de estar no meu top 10 o tempo todo 60 músicas do JA.

Eu posso ser influenciado quando eu ouvir The Tams originais versus as tampas JA, o JA cobre alma forma som mais completo. Eu posso ouvir onde os artistas JA pode ter sido influenciado pelo Tams, mas imho os jamaicanos transformar essas músicas em algo muito mais profundo do que os originais, que eu considero leve, alma corrente principal desde o início da década de 60.

This is a interesting LP for reggae fans. There are 2 tunes on this album that became rock steady/reggae standards "Dancing Mood" & "Riding For A Fall" (Delroy Wilson had a massive hits using these tunes). There is also another tune on this LP that was covered by Derrick Harriott, "Do I Worry". The rock-steady version of "Do I Worry" by Harriott happens to be in my top ten all time 60's JA tunes.

I may be biased when I listen to The Tams original versus the JA covers, the JA covers sound way more soul full. I can hear where the JA artists may have been influenced by The Tams, but imho the Jamaicans turn these tunes into something much deeper than the originals, which I consider light-weight, main stream soul from the early 60's.
